Crawling and First flight
So, Isaac is officially crawling now. He's been at it for about 2 weeks now. Let me just say, it changes everything. It's fun though...seeing him take off, exploring new things and his favorite following mommy everywhere! I have babyproofed the apartment, but he still manages to get into something. He loves getting in the dog's water bowl...yuck! I have those outlet protectors in place, but he always goes over to the lamps and wants to yank the cord out of the wall...not good. I've started making my own makeshift playpen in the living room with furniture so he doesn't have free rain through the apartment all the time and it works pretty good.
Isaac and I recently took a quick trip back to Indiana to go visit my friend who just had a baby and to see family. It was his first trip on a plane and I got the pleasure of doing it alone :( It was stressful, especially trying to carry everything allover, but thanks to many kind strangers, they made it doable. He did pretty well on the plane overall. On the way to Indiana, I was blessed and got the entire back row of the plane to myself on both flights! It was great, we got some privacy and lots of extra room! The way home was a different story. Sat next to 2 males, so nursing was, uh...stressful. Isaac screamed a little when we started to descend and I was freaking out, but I just nursed him and he was fine. I just kept trying to get him to take a bottle of anything water/juice to keep him occupied and he was so well hydrated that he peed right through onto my jeans! I got to walk through the airport with a mellon sized wet mark on my thigh and get on my next flight still wet. Luckily I had time before take off to go in the tiny bathroom and change Isaac. I would not choose to do it by myself again, but it is possible and I'm glad to say I did it.
