Lake George

With his daddy :)

Andy directed a BYU vs. Vermont basketball game the other night in NY and since it is only a 4 hour drive and he gets a hotel Isaac and I decided to come along. It is a really beautiful area with lots of mountains and ski resorts. We enjoyed out time shopping at the outlets and swimming in the pool. Isaac had been sick for about a week with hand, foot and mouth virus so he was recovering from that, but since we'd probably just be hanging out at home we thought we would make the trip with daddy. It was a really nice time!

31 Weeks

Last night we went to a wedding so we were all dressed up. I actually think I look bigger in this pic then I thought I was, but at least we are nearing the end! I think I am bigger then our skinny tree!

30 Weeks

Well, today marks 30 weeks into this pregnancy, which means I only have about 10 more to go! It has gone by so fast, but at the same time 10 weeks seems like allot to go. I will get through it. I am feeling allright, but I am dealing with the common discomforts that come with pregnancy. I feel like I am really being stretched, literally, and am sore from time to time. If I am sitting for too long or standing for too long it gets really uncomfortable too. Just aches and pains I guess that come from carring an exta 20 plus pounds around. Sleep is not very fun either, moving from side to side is quite the ordeal and finding the perfect position is challenging. I seem to wake up about every hour, but other then that I can't complain.
Monday morning I woke up at about 4:45 am not feeling very well. I was having bad stomach cramps and kept having to go to the bathroom and was feeling nausous. I never get sick, so this was unusual to me. I tried to lay there for a while, but it was getting worse. I was getting sharp tight pains in my abdomen that was coming in waves, so I start thinking, oh no, am I having contractions? I didn't experience any with Isaac because my water broke and I went straight in for the c-section and during that time never felt any contractions, so I have no idea what they are like. I tried to write it off that maybe I just ate something bad and it was a stomach bug, but after 3-4 hours of this I decided to call my OB. I told them what I was experiencing and they said there was no way of really knowing if I was having contractions unless I came in. I didn't want to make a big deal about it, but at the same time was nervous something could be wrong so I went in. Well, the put me on the moniter for 15-20 min. and thankfully no contractions! I felt a little dumb for coming in, but glad to know everything was ok. I am just worried now, I will not know if I am in labor when it really does happen. I have been reassured by friends that, oh you'll know!!
I am still hoping to try for a VBAC, vaginal birth as long as he is not breech again but it is too early to tell. I am feeling pretty nervous about it, because honestly after having a c-section I kinda know what I am getting into and the other seems so unknown. Andy and I toured the maternity ward last night at the hospital (this is different then where I had Isaac) and they were showing us the labor and delivering rooms and I just couldn't imagine it! I know my God is in control so I am not going to fret! I am so looking forward to having this baby and seeing what he looks like and what we will name him! We have about 3 names picked out, but won't decide until we see him. It is all so exciting and I am so thankful to be blessed to get to go through this again and have another baby brought into our lives.

Counting with Isaac

I am so proud of this boy! He suddenly counted to 6 today at Target! I don't know why, but 6 has always been an easy number for him to say and if you ask him how old he is he will say 6. Anyway, we have been working on counting and I caught him counting tonight (not sure what he is counting here) so I asked him to do it for me so we could share with all of you. He loves to look at the pictures and movies after I take them, so he kept wanting to come over and see what I was looking at. Sorry it's so dark, it was just before bed. Enjoy!

20 Months Old

What a difference a year makes! These were taken on his 8 month birthday and October 25, 2009. It was his first time playing with leaves. The ones below were taken yesterday October 26, 2010 and now he can run and jump and play in them. He certainly has gained allot more hair since then!

IT"S A BOY!!!!

My suspicions were right, we will be adding another little boy to our family in February! We are so excited to have another boy and for Isaac to have a little brother! Boys are so special and fun! I am so happy I will be the mother of 2 boys :)
Isaac got to see the baby on the moniter at the ultrasound, but he is still to young to really understand mommy's having a baby I think. I think he will be a great big brother and he is already a great helper to me!
Last night Andy told me that he already see signs of leadership in Isaac. He tries to get other little kids to follow him and to copy what he is doing (older kids). He also, likes to line up all his little animals that go to his Noah's ark set and "talk" to them, like he bossing them around and then all the sudden he will take his arm and knock the all down!
One things we are dealing witht that is not so great is that he is pinching. He's been doing this at home to us for a while and when he does he gets a warning and if he does it again, he gets a little swat on his bum and has to sit in timeout for a minute. It has worked pretty well, and he even has gotten to the point of putting himself in timeout when he knows he's in trouble. However, yesterday I had bible study at church and when I went to pick him up at the nursery, they said "Isaac likes to pinch!" I have never gotten a negative comment about him, like ever! So I was disappointed, cause I knew it was only a matter of time. Hopefully I can teach him that he needs to keep his hands to himself. He is a very good listener and obeys pretty well, so I am not worried, it's the next child I am worried about! haha.
I didn't get any pictures the day we found out we are having a boy, but I will try and put up the ultrasound pics soon.

Apples and Pumpkins!

I love fall! So to celebrate this harvest season we headed out to a local farm today and picked some apple and pumpkins. It was great day! They had lots of tractors out hauling pumpkins and Isaac loved seeing them and kept saying "truck, truck!" Whenever they got close though he got scared and wanted to be picked up. He helped pick the apples and even picked out his very own little pumpkin. I think we got around 15-20 pounds of apples so I have lots of applesauce to make and Andy requested an apple pie....yummy!
(you can see from all these pictures that Isaac has gotten a little camera shy, everytime we want him to look he wouldn't, plus he was really tired by this time)

19 weeks

I feel allot bigger then I look in this photo! I don't think these pictures do the belly justice, cause I have definitely popped over the last 5 weeks since my last photo was taken. I am in mostly maternity clothes now and am so thankful I can wear the same stuff I had with Isaac so I don't have to buy allot. I am feeling really good! I am hungry allot and tire more easily, but other then that I am really enjoying this pregnancy. We have a doctor's appointment this Wednesday the 22nd for our big 20 week ultrasound!!! I can't believe I am almost halfway! I guess just based off of how I have been feeling I kind of think it is going to be another boy. For some reason if I was having a girl I would think I would just be feeling completely different then I did with Isaac and they have pretty much been the same, aside from a little sickness in the beginning. Only a few more days and we will know! Wow!

The house

I mentioned in a previous post that I would be put up pictures of our new place. Well, now that we have been here almost 6 months I feel like I finally have gotten some decorating done. My biggest project was painting the wood paneling in the living room. I despised this dark wood paneling, but after 3 coats of paint, I think it looks awesome! I am so happy we did it, even if it is just a rental it was well worth it.

newborn goodies

I went to Babies R us yesterday and couldn't resist getting something for the new baby. I had a %20 off coupon and a $10 giftcard so I figured it would be a good deal. This blanket is beyond soft! So warm and cuddly I can't wait to wrap up my bundle of joy in it. I also got a new slipcover for my boppy pillow.

A visit to Elk Rapids, MI

Here are a few pictures from our trip to Michigan. Isaac and I went for 9 days to stay with my family at a beach house in northern MI. It was a wonderful and relaxing time. It was made even better when Andy decided to surprise me and show up a few days before we were supposed to leave, so we got to all be together. My dad took all great pictures!

14 weeks

I have gained 2-3 pounds so far and I know I have a long way to go. I am still enjoying my normal clothes and trying to put off those maternity clothes as long as possible although I'm sure they would be much more comfortable. I've been having some sickness the past two weeks. I've thrown up 4-5 times which is very different for me since I never did once with Isaac. We had a great 12 week appointment. I got to have an ultrasound and hear the heartbeat and everything looked great. Andy and Isaac got to be there too which was really nice.

One more makes a family of four!

I'm pretty sure everyone knows, but Andy and I are expecting our second child, due February 10, 2011!!! This will make the baby and Isaac almost exactly two years apart since Isaac's birthday is on February 25th. I am really thrilled as is Andy that they will be close in age. I am so happy for Isaac to have a sibling and to eventually have someone to play with. I am just so happy to be blessed with another child. I am currently 12 weeks along so I just got through the first trimester, which is supposed to be the hardest. I was very fortunate that I was not very sick, but more so then I was with Isaac. With Isaac, I didn't even feel pregnant, never once got sick and somehow had energy to go to work. This time I feel super tired, probably from chasing my 17 month old around and I have gotten sick a couple of times, but overall I have been feeling really good. Suprisingly I am not showing that much yet, which I thought for sure I would be since it's my second child, however I still feel bigger.

The story goes, I found out I was pregnant on May 29th after taking a home pregnancy test. Andy was out of town, who would have thought! So my plan was to wait the day and a half until he got home to tell him in person. I tried to think of all these fun ideas of how to tell him and ended up going to Barnes and Noble to get Isaac a book called, "I'm a Big Brother." Isaac is really into books, so I thought after Andy got home I would tell him we went and got some new books and try and get Isaac to go show him, I knew this probably wouldn't work out perfect so I also made a cake. I decorated it and just put the due date (or what I thought was the due date) on it. So, Andy comes in and I am so nervous I can barely keep the smile off my face, I told him about the book and said to Isaac, "Go show daddy your new book." Well that failed, but it was nothing out of the ordinary. Then I said I made a cake, do you want to see? Also, not out of the ordinary, as I am always baking. As I was in the kitchen I guess Andy noticed the book on the table and said outlound, "I'm a big brother?" then I walked out and had the cake in my hand. I just looked at him and was like, yep, were having another baby. He was shocked and smiling asking me if I was really serious, but it eventually sank in.

I go to the doctor this evening for a check up and am doing a non invasive test that tests for down syndrome. Andy and Isaac are planning on going with me. I have to have an ultrasound done for the test so this will be Andy's first time getting to go see the baby and meet the doctor.
I will keep you all update on how everything progresses.... more pictures to come :)

Isaac first camping trip

We brought his little car along for some entertainment!
He can drink from a juice box now!

He was pretty content playing in the rocks and dirt. We had to tell him a few times to not eat the rocks!
Sweet boy!

His favorite game was climbing in and out of the tent!
Our official fire starter!
Hot dogs by the fire
Hiking in the woods.

We rented a paddle boat and took Isaac out on the lake
Our beautiful view from the paddle boat
He was a little nervous about the whole thing, but he did great!
