One more makes a family of four!
I'm pretty sure everyone knows, but Andy and I are expecting our second child, due February 10, 2011!!! This will make the baby and Isaac almost exactly two years apart since Isaac's birthday is on February 25th. I am really thrilled as is Andy that they will be close in age. I am so happy for Isaac to have a sibling and to eventually have someone to play with. I am just so happy to be blessed with another child. I am currently 12 weeks along so I just got through the first trimester, which is supposed to be the hardest. I was very fortunate that I was not very sick, but more so then I was with Isaac. With Isaac, I didn't even feel pregnant, never once got sick and somehow had energy to go to work. This time I feel super tired, probably from chasing my 17 month old around and I have gotten sick a couple of times, but overall I have been feeling really good. Suprisingly I am not showing that much yet, which I thought for sure I would be since it's my second child, however I still feel bigger.
The story goes, I found out I was pregnant on May 29th after taking a home pregnancy test. Andy was out of town, who would have thought! So my plan was to wait the day and a half until he got home to tell him in person. I tried to think of all these fun ideas of how to tell him and ended up going to Barnes and Noble to get Isaac a book called, "I'm a Big Brother." Isaac is really into books, so I thought after Andy got home I would tell him we went and got some new books and try and get Isaac to go show him, I knew this probably wouldn't work out perfect so I also made a cake. I decorated it and just put the due date (or what I thought was the due date) on it. So, Andy comes in and I am so nervous I can barely keep the smile off my face, I told him about the book and said to Isaac, "Go show daddy your new book." Well that failed, but it was nothing out of the ordinary. Then I said I made a cake, do you want to see? Also, not out of the ordinary, as I am always baking. As I was in the kitchen I guess Andy noticed the book on the table and said outlound, "I'm a big brother?" then I walked out and had the cake in my hand. I just looked at him and was like, yep, were having another baby. He was shocked and smiling asking me if I was really serious, but it eventually sank in.
I go to the doctor this evening for a check up and am doing a non invasive test that tests for down syndrome. Andy and Isaac are planning on going with me. I have to have an ultrasound done for the test so this will be Andy's first time getting to go see the baby and meet the doctor.
I will keep you all update on how everything progresses.... more pictures to come :)
