9 months

Here are some pictures from our trip to Florida to visit my Grandma Huffman and Aunt Sharolyn & Uncle Marty. Isaac is now pulling up to stand on Everything! It's his favorite thing to do. This boy really wants to walk....I have no doubt he will be by Christmas. He stood on his own with no hands for a few seconds yesterday! Changing his diaper and putting on clothes is becoming more and more challenging! I can barely get him to lay down, he just wants to go go go. He's also entered a "mommy can't leave me phase." Which I guess is good. As soon as he realizes I'm gone he freaks out and starts crying. Which makes getting away difficult. I tried to go to "Mom's group" at church yesterday and leave him with childcare, but they called me down to come get him because he wouldn't calm down. Hopefully, it's just a phase. He's still the happiest baby ever and continues to bring us so much joy.
Andy's busy travel season is coming to an end so we are all thankful for that. He is burnt out on travel and ready to be home for a while. Looking forward to Christmas and it being Isaac's first, although we really are not making a big deal about it. We will be traveling home for about 2weeks.

Crawling and First flight

So, Isaac is officially crawling now. He's been at it for about 2 weeks now. Let me just say, it changes everything. It's fun though...seeing him take off, exploring new things and his favorite following mommy everywhere! I have babyproofed the apartment, but he still manages to get into something. He loves getting in the dog's water bowl...yuck! I have those outlet protectors in place, but he always goes over to the lamps and wants to yank the cord out of the wall...not good. I've started making my own makeshift playpen in the living room with furniture so he doesn't have free rain through the apartment all the time and it works pretty good.

Isaac and I recently took a quick trip back to Indiana to go visit my friend who just had a baby and to see family. It was his first trip on a plane and I got the pleasure of doing it alone :( It was stressful, especially trying to carry everything allover, but thanks to many kind strangers, they made it doable. He did pretty well on the plane overall. On the way to Indiana, I was blessed and got the entire back row of the plane to myself on both flights! It was great, we got some privacy and lots of extra room! The way home was a different story. Sat next to 2 males, so nursing was, uh...stressful. Isaac screamed a little when we started to descend and I was freaking out, but I just nursed him and he was fine. I just kept trying to get him to take a bottle of anything water/juice to keep him occupied and he was so well hydrated that he peed right through onto my jeans! I got to walk through the airport with a mellon sized wet mark on my thigh and get on my next flight still wet. Luckily I had time before take off to go in the tiny bathroom and change Isaac. I would not choose to do it by myself again, but it is possible and I'm glad to say I did it.

"da da"

Update

Here are just a few random recent pictures, I thought you all would enjoy. Isaac is nearing 8 months on Oct. 25th! He is trying to crawl, but right now all he can do is scoot backwards. It's pretty funny and he can go pretty far, but he always ends up getting stuck with his legs wrapped around something. Fine with me! I know it will only get harder once he's mobile. He also says "da da da!!" ALL day long! No "ma ma ma" haha, but that's ok! He is pretty vocal and also likes to growl! I'll have to get a video of that :) We are just enjoying watching this boy grow so much. It's really fun, because you can start to see his personality starting to come out. One thing is for sure, he loves all people! I am so happy for that and hope and pray that continues on with him through life. He is always giving smiles to strangers and will let anyone hold him. I have already started to notice a little attitude coming through when he's with mom though. I think it's because I am home with him all day and if he doesn't get what he wants he knows how to moan and whine. I will have him playing on the floor and walk out for a few minutes and he's fine...out of sight out of mind, but when he's sees me he will start in.
He is still sleeping good. I am so glad we started him on a schedule early. Once it's 7pm, he knows it's time for bed and is ready to go night night! He wakes up usually around 7-8 am waking up once around 5am to nurse. I must admit, I've had it pretty easy.
Andy is busy traveling with work and is currently directing a live show every Sat. through Dec. This takes him mostly to the South. I started going to a church nearby and joined there new moms group and have met some other moms to get together with! I am also going to a woman's Bible study on Tue. mornings and take Isaac to the nursery there. He does really great in there! They always tell me how happy and easygoing he is! It's good for him since he can be around other babies and it's good for me too!
With Andy traveling we won't be back in Indiana for Thanksgiving. He has to work in FL that weekend so we will be spending Thanksgiving with my Aunt and Grandma in FL! So we will be home for Christmas!

6 months old

Splish Splash...he can sit up for a few seconds before falling over.

Getting warm after our bath! Heading out for a walk
I have been going through all his pictures from over the past 6 months and looking at how much he has grown, from just a little sweet pea to...well he's still just a little sweet pea! But bigger! He is just so amazing and I am so in love with him. I may be biased...haha...but he really is THE best baby! He is content and happy almost all the time no matter where we go...it's crazy. He is getting a little more demanding as he is getting older though! He is starting to figure things out and knows what he wants now. Lately, we have been struggling with naps. The only way he would sleep during the day is if he nursed and fell asleep and I sit and hold him. The minute I put him down he cries. If I just let him cry he is a fighter and doesn't give in. So I am still trying to figure out the whole nap thing. Some days he does some days he only takes cat naps in the car.

He is eating 2 meals a day now (as in baby food). Oatmeal and veggie in the morning and usually just oatmeal again in the evening. No teeth at all yet, so he hasn't really tried any table food. So far he has liked everything I have had him try...carrots, squash and peas.

We are all adjusting to the new place pretty well. Andy is still getting used to the commute. He used to take a train into the city but now takes the bus which means you have to deal with traffic so it can get lengthy. For Andy to get to work, I drive him to the bus station in the morning then he gets on a bus to the city then once in the city he takes the subway to his stop and walks several blocks to his building...it's quite a journey. Some days he takes the car though and it is nice for us to stay home. I have learned my way around the town and know how to get places so I am starting settle in once again to a new place. This is my 5th place to live in 4 years!
Isaac is sleeping very well in his own room and mom and dad are sleeping good too! We just keep our doors open and I wake up whenever he cries...which normally isn't until 4-5 in the morning and he goes back to sleep until around 8. Here are a few pictures of the our place. We are still working on making it look how we want so we are not done with everything. We just painted Isaac's room last weekend and love it! Still need to get curtains up and some art on the walls.

Here is a cute little video of Isaac cracking up at his favorite word? I got him flash cards and we just show him the picture and tell him what it is and he got cracked up on one word. I had just changed his diaper and we were letting him have some time to "breathe" so that's why he has no diaper on. Not a very good view of me, but it's not about me!

A few recent events....

We moved and Nonny came to visit!
Andy celebrated his birthday!

We started baby food. Here he is trying squash for the first time...first bite...but he actually ended up really liking it. I think it was just the initial shock!

We got a "Johnny Jump Up" and are still not quite sure what we are supposed to be doing here. He'll get it! (don't mind our yucky carpet!)

More updates and pics of our place soon!

We're moving~~~~~~~~~~~~~

AGAIN! We found a great place that is absolutely perfect for us right now. It has 2 beds/ 2 FULL baths and little yard space and even a fireplace....that has been something Andy and I have wanted since we got married. AND it's CHEAPER by quite a bit then where we are living now :) Thank the Lord!
The thought of moving again is not really appealing to me right now, but it is something we have to do. With me not working we simply could not stay where we were and Isaac needs a room too. I already am dreaming of how I am going to decorate his room! It is in Old Bridge, NJ and will be about the same distance for Andy to get to work, but it's about 30 minutes from where we live now. We have friends that live there which encouraged us to check out the area and it will be nice to know people.
I was kind of hopeful that our next move would be a little more permenant but we are really happy to have it. Andy's job is still going really well so here we stay.
I just joined a mom's group in this area and went on my first playdate last week and so I am going to have to start over there, but I'm sure it will be good. The lady who own's the townhouse we are renting said there are allot of people with kids in the neighborhood which will be great because there are not many where we live now.
Our move in date is Aug. 1st so I have to start packing! I was at Michaels craft store today and was able to score a few free moving boxes :) Our current landlord wants to get the place rented out right away so they are showing it to 2 people tomorrow evening. Since Andy is out of town that means I have to get out of the apartment with both the baby and the dog....that should be fun! (major sarcasm there) We will probably just head to a park and walk, but I usually don't walk with both of them together because Amos pulls allot. Wish me luck :)

First Taste

of cereal...it was a success! Just as I suspected he loved it and by the end was getting very frustrated that it was not coming fast enough. We are giving him one serving in the evening about an hour or two before his last feeding. No, he did not sleep through the night :( He woke up just the same so my efforts to get some more sleep failed, but he enjoyed it and I think he was ready so that is most important. Here is a short movie of his first "bite"....
